Using my own body as a surface.

In these photos I used my own body 'The Artist's Body' as the surface of my drawing. The skin as a surface and matrix is something i want to further explore and develop in my work.

Using my research notes within my work.

As I began researching the topic of the body and the skin as a surface i began taking notes of artists whohave both worked onto the skin and who have used their own bodies within their own work. I began to think about how i could incorporate text and the body to create imagery which everyone can relate to. I began by selecting quotes from my work which I found gave the viewer a further understanding of the meaning of my work.
While the pattern drawinf has been removed I still think that the same message is being portrayed. I wanted to develop the idea further and look at other ways in which to express my ideas.

Usiing these quootations and notes I decided to see what they would look like drawn onto the skin.
These images are taken from my sketchbook and allowed me to visualise the notes on my own skin and how the photos might look as finished pieces.

Projecting my drawings back onto the skin.

These photos are only a starting point. I want redo these images in the photography studio with the correct lighting.

Drawings projected an drawn from my enitial sketchbook drawings.

sketchbook continued.

Using ball point black pen I create images within my sketchbook which I begin to see on a larger scale.

The delicate line creates a complicated and intricate line which allows my to enlarge the drawings and still maintain the detail.

Fadsion photography plays a huge role in the postioning and posing of the models within my drawings.

Sketchbook Drawings
Using magazine fashion photography I begin my drawings my using the outline of the body and the contours of the skin to create a series of geometric and tendril shapes on the surface of the image. These acted as te starting point for my drawings.
